Samherji's brand new 6 billion ISK facility is processing with filleting machines from Vélfag8/19/2020 Samherji's brand new high-tech production plant in Dalvík is now up and running. The new 9,000 square meter fish processing facility is among the world's most advanced groundfish plants. Samherji's investment starts at around ISK 6 billion (37M €), and automation is at the forefront. Vélfag filleting machines are at the heart of the transformation process, now with both M700 and M725. Samherji founded in 1983 is one of the largest companies in the Icelandic fish industry and has long been in the lead in the fisheries sector, primarily due to their way of improving and using technology in their part of the value chain in fishing, land-based processing, and utilization of raw materials. In addition to the robust mechanical M700, Samherji has now also invested in the M725, a fully computer-controlled machine designed to fillet large whitefish enabling Samherji to produce clean, high-value fillets. Along with our proprietary filleting process and TakeControl operating system, the machine sets a new industry standard.
The TakeControl software offers features such as data collection, tag-based login, fish size adaptive control, automatic lubrication, and data collection for both quality of the product and valuable information on machine condition and upcoming service. The Vélfag team would like to congratulate Samherji on their modern processing plant in Dalvík. We're proud to be part of the ambitious project.
