Vélfag’s line of heading machines is designed to maximize throughput, yield, and quality of whitefish, redfish, and flatfish. The space-saving and straightforward design make the machine user-friendly, easy to maintain, and adjust. M500, M505, and M521 are corrosion-free and easy to clean, which results in fewer bacteria growth and better fish quality. Our belt design and variable knife angle produce an optimal heading process and higher yield. The machines are equipped with a Sure-Grip conveyor system better to handle live fish and fish in rigor mortis.
Our heading machines are specifically designed to be the first step of the filleting process and therefore take the head and collarbone off every time. Our optional suction unit guts the fish, saving both valuable time and personnel. Furthermore, it ensures better yield in the filleting process as it eliminates the risk of crooked gutting by hand.
